How can we help?

Most problems are solved in a minute below. If not — write to us: a real person reads every message and answers as soon as I can — it is a one-person project.

Quick fixes

The phone is not found

Use a data cable — some cables only charge. Plug it into the Mac directly, not into a hub or monitor. On the phone, turn on USB debugging (the app shows how), then tap “Allow” and check “Always allow from this computer”.

“Another adb is using the phone”

Another tool (a developer tool or another mirroring app) is holding the phone. Quit it, or run adb kill-server in Terminal, then reconnect the cable.

I can see the screen, but taps and keys don't work

Some phones need a second switch: turn on “USB debugging (Security settings)” in Developer options. Xiaomi may ask you to sign in to a Mi account for this.

The picture stutters or lags

Check the HUD: if the phone shows overheating, let it cool down or lower the game's graphics. Close heavy apps on the Mac, use a short, good cable, and plug it directly into the Mac.

The cable came loose

Just reconnect it. The game and the control mode resume by themselves.

macOS says it can't check the app

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click “Open Anyway” next to Tethercast. You need to do this once.

My license key is not accepted

Copy the whole key from the e-mail — line breaks are fine. If the app says the key needs a newer version, choose Tethercast → Check for Updates…

I didn't get my key

Keys are issued by hand within 24 hours; check the spam folder. Still nothing after a day? Write to us below with the e-mail you used at checkout.

Write to the developer

A problem, an idea for a feature, a question about a purchase — everything is welcome.

Write to support@tethercast.com

Or e-mail support@tethercast.com directly. In the app: Help → Contact Support… fills in your app version for you.
